all other factors are the same, the more a stone weighs, the more valuable it
will be.
Larger diamonds are more rare and in more demand than smaller
stones of the same quality. So price increases as you go from smaller to larger
stones.

diamond does not increase proportionately. The larger the stone (of the same
quality), the more disproportionate the increase in cost.
For example, a 2-carat diamond will not cost twice as much as a
1-carat diamond. It could easily be four times as much.
